What Is the Montreal School of Theology?

Home / About UTC / What Is the Montreal School of Theology?

We are committed to ecumenical learning in partnership with the The Montreal Diocesan College, The Presbyterian College of Montreal, and The Faculty of Religious Studies of McGill University, which together make up the Montreal School of Theology. MST is the oldest ecumenical centre for theological education in the English-speaking world, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014.

The Montreal School of Theology was established to promote ecumenical co-operation in theological education in Montreal. UTC joins with Montreal Diocesan Theological College, Presbyterian College, and the Faculty of Religious Studies of McGill University to deliver high caliber academic, professional and spiritual formation for various Christian ministries. UTC and the Montreal School of Theology also partner with Université de Montréal to offer some portions of our program in French. Various events and many course options foster the ecumenical spirit and provide students with opportunity to prepare for ministry in a multi-denominational learning environment.

The Montreal School of Theology is a member of the Association of Theological Schools of the U.S. and Canada, and its Master of Divinity Degree is A.T.S. accredited. For more information on the Montreal School of Theology, please click here.
